How the system works:
Gravity feeds water from the fish tank to the plant table A bell siphon drains the water from the plant basin to the biological filter when it reaches a critical level. The biological filter pumps water back up to the fish tank.
Toxic ammonia from the fish waste is converted by bacteria in the biological filter from ammonia to nitrites then nitrates. The plants are fertilized by the nitrates.
